Native New Mexican Tim Means will get his desired fight on home soil, as he will square off against Ramazan Emeev at UFC Rio Rancho on Feb. 15.
The welterweight bout was first announced by Fox New Mexico on Monday night. UFC Rio Rancho takes place at the Santa Ana Star Center and is headlined by a light heavyweight rematch between Corey Anderson and Jan Blachowicz. The card will stream on ESPN+.
Means will make a relatively quick turnaround following a first-round submission of former welterweight title challenger Thiago Alves at UFC on ESPN 7 this past December. “The Dirty Bird” has won two of his last three Octagon appearances and has established himself as a reliable action fighter over the course of a 20-bout UFC stint.
Emeev, meanwhile, had a seven-fight winning streak halted in his fourth promotional outing, when he dropped a unanimous verdict to Anthony Rocco Martin at UFC Fight Night 163. The M-1 Challenge veteran began his UFC tenure with successive decision triumphs over Sam Alvey, Alberto Mina and Stefan Sekulic.
