This is the UFC 314 live blog for Nikita Krylov vs. Dominick Reyes, the main card light heavyweight fight Saturday at Kaseya Center in Miami.
Krylov (29-9) is No. 9 at 205 pounds in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings, while Reyes (14-4) sits at No. 15.
This is Krylov’s first appearance since March 11, 2023, a span of 763 days. There has been little movement in the rankings despite Krylov’s absence as the veteran was on a three-fight win streak when we last saw him compete. Two of those wins came via first-round finish, with Krylov submitting Ryan Spann and scoring a knockout of three-time title challenger Alexander Gustafsson.
Reyes is experiencing a resurgence of sorts. Long known as the man who almost defeated Jon Jones, Reyes went on a four-fight losing skid following his title fight loss to Jones at UFC 247. He took a break from action and made a successful return with a two-minute knockout of Dustin Jacoby in June 2024 and followed that with a second-round finish of Anthony Smith at UFC 310. With another win, Reyes could find himself making an unexpected return to the top 10.
