Costa takes on the surging Kopylov at UFC 318 on July 19 at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. According to BetOnline, “Borrachincha” is a +210 underdog against Kopylov, a -250 favorite.
’Borrachina’ Seeks First UFC Win in Three Years
Costa was a hyped prospect who had finished all of his opponents in the first round coming into the UFC in 2017. Costa racked up five straight UFC wins, with four finishes, to earn a middleweight title shot against Israel Adesanya in 2020. However, Adesanya finished Costa, who never found the same momentum in his career again. Costa has only won once in four outings since, against Luke Rockhold in August 2022.
Meanwhile, Kopylov is 6-3 in the UFC. He is on a two-fight win streak and coming off a knockout win over veteran Chris Curtis this past January.
