UFC Confirms Next Australian Event

The Ultimate Fighting Championship is headed back Down Under this fall.

The Las Vegas-based promotion announced on Monday that it will hold a UFC Fight Night event in Perth, Australia, on Sept. 27. No bouts were announced for the card.

It will mark the UFC’s second trip to Australia in 2025. UFC 312 took place on Feb. 8 at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney and saw Dricus Du Plessis defend the middleweight crown with a unanimous decision victory in a rematch against Sean Strickland. In the co-headliner, Weili Zhang retained the her flyweight strap with a dominant five-round verdict over Tatiana Suarez.

Della Maddalena Unlikely to Fight at UFC Perth

The Octagon last touched down in Perth on Aug. 17, 2024 for UFC 305, where Du Plessis scored a fourth-round submission of Israel Adesanya in the evening’s main event.

The most prominent fighter from the Western Australian capital is reigning welterweight champion Jack Della Maddalena. The 28-year-old Scrappy MMA product is unlikely to compete on a Fight Night card, as his first title defenses is expected to come against ex-lightweight king Islam Makhachev. That bout will likely headline a future UFC pay-per-view.
