In the aftermath of Aspinall’s no contest against Ciryl Gane, the heavyweight champion promised that he would no longer be the “good guy” in terms of fighting. Staying true to his words, Aspinall recently went off on Gane in the comments section of the Frenchman’s Instagram.

Gane recently posted pictures of himself training with fellow heavyweight Tai Tuivasa. “Bon Gamin” seemed to lament the lack of an upcoming fight.
“Still no date or opponent yet… but we keep grinding and training hard before the holidays with my man [Tai Tuivasa],” Gane wrote on Instagram.
Frustration Mounting
Aspinall labelled Gane a “cheat”, reminding him of the eye poke in their first outing. Expected to rematch Gane on his return, “Honey Badger” says he is not medically cleared to fight yet.
“No s—t there’s not a date yet,” Aspinall wrote in the comments. “I’m not medically cleared to fight and about to have surgery thanks to your disgusting fingernails. I’ll be back to smash your face in soon you cheat.”
Aspinall (15-3) put his heavyweight title on the line for the first time against Gane (13-2) at UFC 320 this past October. The highly anticipated matchup ended anticlimactically when Aspinall was left unable to continue after Gane simultaneously poked him in both eyes in the first round. Dana White said that a rematch between the two will be booked at the earliest possible date.
