Kennedy Nzechukwu could be out for a significant period of time following a submission loss at UFC Nashville.
Nzechukwu tapped to an inverted heel hook from Valter Walker just 54 seconds into the opening stanza of their preliminary heavyweight bout at UFC on ESPN 70 on Saturday night. As a result, Nzechukwu has been suspended 180 days unless he receives physician clearance. The Tennessee Athletic Commission, which released a full list of medical suspensions from Saturday’s card at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, did not reveal the specific nature of Nzechukwu’s injury.

Everyone who competed at UFC Nashville received at least a seven-day mandatory medical suspension. Two others from the event are facing potential 180-day terms pending doctor clearance: Junior Tafa and Mike Davis.

Gabriel Bonfim: Suspended 30 days with 14 days no contact.

Morgan Charriere: Suspended 30 days with 14 days no contact.
Nate Landwehr: Suspended 45 days with 30 days no contact.
George Tokkos: Suspended 30 days with 14 days no contact.
Junior Tafa: Suspended 180 days or until cleared by physician.
Chris Curtis: Suspended 45 days with 30 days no contact.
Max Griffin: Suspended 45 days with 30 days no contact.
Lauren Murphy: Suspended 30 days with 14 days no contact.
Kennedy Nzechukwu: Suspended 180 days or until cleared by physician.
Mike Davis: Suspended 180 days or until cleared by physician with 30 days no contact.
Mitch Ramirez: Suspended 45 days with no contact 30 days.
Melissa Martinez: Suspended 60 days with 45 days no contact.
