UFC on ESPN 31 Weigh-in Results: Main Event Set; 1 Fight Canceled

The
Ultimate Fighting Championship
returns after a rare week off
for its first of three December cards. All fighters made weight for
UFC
on ESPN 31
, including headliners Rob Font and
Jose
Aldo
in a pivotal bantamweight bout. However, Jared
Vanderaa
wasn’t medically cleared for his bout against Azamat
Murzakanov
and the fight was canceled as a result.

After dropping three straight fights to top competition in Alexander
Volkanovski
, Marlon
Moraes
and Petr Yan, Aldo
(30-7) has found his footing at bantamweight. “Junior” has won two
straight decisions over Marlon Vera
and Pedro
Munhoz
. The former featherweight king will look to cement
himself as a contender by making it three straight. Aldo stepped on
the scale at 136 pounds taking full advantage of the one-pound
allowance.

Undefeated since December 2018, Font (19-4) has put together four
straight wins. After beating Sergio
Pettis
and Ricky Simon
by decision, the Boston fighter picked up a TKO victory over
Moraes. Font followed that up with a five-round decision over
Cody
Garbrandt
. The 34-year-old officially weighed 134 pounds for
his second UFC main event.

UFC on ESPN 31 will stream in its entirety on ESPN and ESPN+.
Prelims begin at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT and the main card starts at 10
p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.
