UFC Perth weigh-in results: Jack Della Maddalena return set; 1 fighter heavy

The Ultimate Fighting Championship‘s second Australian card of 2026 is officially set following the official UFC Perth weigh-ins.

Headlining the event is former UFC welterweight champion Jack Della Maddalena, who will take on Brazil’s Carlos Prates in his first fight since losing the title. Both men successfully made weight for the five-round fight. The only fighter to miss weight was Gerald Meerschaert, as the would-be middleweight was four pounds overweight and came in at 190 pounds. As a result of his weight miss, opponent Jacob Malkoun will receive 30 percent of the purse of “GM3.”

Della Maddalena is fighting back in his home country for the first time since 2023. The 29-year-old was last seen losing a one-sided decision to Islam Makhachev. Prior to the setback, the Scrappy MMA product had been 8-0 inside the Octagon and defeated Belal Muhammad to claim the championship. The former welterweight king weighed 170 pounds on the dot for his comeback.

Meanwhile, this is the biggest fight in the career of Prates (23-7). “The Nightmare” is coming off a win over another former champion in Leon Edwards, who he viciously knocked out last year. The Brazilian is 6-1 inside the UFC, with his only defeat coming to Ian Garry. The 32-year-old stepped on the scale at 170 pounds exactly.

UFC Perth will stream live on Paramount+ on Saturday morning. The prelims begin at 4 a.m. ET/1 a.m. PT, while the main card kicks off at 7 a.m. ET/4 p.m. PT.
