UFC Set For New Zealand Return In February

Spread the word!

The UFC is now set to return to New Zealand in February of 2020.

It will be the Las Vegas-based promotion’s first trip back to New Zealand since mid-2017. The New Zealand Herald reports that the UFC is planning a “Fight Night” event for February from Auckland, the country’s most populous city. The show goes down from the Spark Arena on February 22.

It’s likely the show will broadcast on ESPN+. No fights have been announced for the card, but top-ranked lightweight Dan Hooker made it known earlier this year he’d like a high-profile fight in a main event from his native New Zealand. Perhaps “Hangman” will get his wish.

February’s card will be the UFC’s third-ever event from New Zealand. UFC Fight Night 43 went down from the Spark Arena in June 2014. In the same month of 2017, at UFC Fight Night 110, Mark Hunt headlined against Derrick Lewis in a massive heavyweight main event from the same venue.

Who do you think should main event UFC New Zealand?
