This is the UFC Vegas 100 live blog for Neil Magny vs. Carlos Prates, the main event fight this Saturday at the UFC APEX.
A staple of the UFC welterweight division for over a decade, Magny holds a number of UFC records including welterweight fights, welterweight wins, and most bouts in a calendar year. On top of that, Magny remains a ranked welterweight, and while the days of true title aspirations are likely behind him, “The Haitian Sensation” wants to continue proving he’s among the best in the world at 170 pounds.
Joining the UFC off of Contender Series last year, Prates’s first year in the promotion has been remarkable. Three fights, three finishes, and three Performance bonuses have made Prates a fan favorite already and now he gets an opportunity to move into the UFC rankings and cement his status as Breakout Fighter of the Year.
