Edmen Shahbazyan continues to be a threat early in the fight.
“The Golden Boy” added to his list of first-round finishes Saturday at UFC Vegas 102 with a 95-second drubbing of Dylan Budka. The methodical Shahbazyan cracked Budka with a right hand that sent Budka crashing to the mat, and then from there, the knockout stoppage was just a formality.
Watch the hard-hitting finish below.
At 0-2 to start his UFC career, Budka was in need of a win, but it wasn’t to be as he failed to close the range effectively against Shahbazyan. Once Shahbazyan saw the opening to land a KO blow, he didn’t hesitate, and seconds later, referee Chris Tognoni stepped in to wave off the bout.
With the win, Shahbazyan (14-5) boosted his UFC record to 7-5 and has now alternated wins and losses in his past six fights, with none of those results determined by the judges. Five of Shahbazyan’s seven UFC victories have come in the first round.
