UFC Vegas 106 video: Luana Santos makes history with Americana submission of Tainara Lisboa

Luana Santos is officially in the UFC record books.

Santos faced Tainara Lisboa in a women’s bantamweight preliminary bout at UFC Vegas 106 on Saturday at the UFC APEX. With just one second left in the second round, Santos forced the tap with the first Americana submission in UFC women’s history.

Check out the historic finish below.

Santos competed for the first time in 2025, and for the first time since suffering a decision loss to Casey O’Neill at UFC 305 this past August. Prior to that, the 25-year-old was victorious in her first three octagon appearances, including stoppage wins over Mariya Agapova and Juliana Miller, and is now 6-1 over her past seven outings.

Lisboa entered the bout undefeated in UFC competition. That is no longer the case as she suffered her first promotional loss, and had her overall five-fight win streak snapped.
