Though the UFC Vegas 111 headliner ended in controversy, Gabriel Bonfim nonetheless received a little extra compensation for his efforts.

Bonfim dropped Randy Brown with a knee in Round 2, sending his foe to the canvas in a dazed state. While Brown attempted to defend himself on the floor by covering up, the bout was waved off at the 1:40 mark of the period. As a result, Bonfim received a $50,000 “Performance of the Night” bonus.

Meanwhile, Christian Leroy Duncan garnered a $50,000 “Performance of the Night” check by making short work of Marco Tulio in a featured middleweight affair. The Brit stunned his adversary with a spinning backfist, then finished Tulio off with punches 3:20 into the second stanza.

Heavyweight Newcomer Secures $50K

Elsewhere, Josh Hokit had a promotional debut to remember, as he secured $50,000 for a quick stoppage of Max Gimenis in a preliminary heavyweight encounter. The Jackson-Wink MMA product dropped Gimenis with a right hook before battering the Brazilian with a series of punches near the fence to seal his victory 4:23 into Round 2.

Finally, Zachary Reese earned the card’s final $50,000 “Performance of the Night” bonus for a submission of Jackson McVey on short notice in a 195-pound catchweight clash. After absorbing some punishment in the clinch in the opening stanza, Reese grounded his opponent, transitioned to the back and locked in a fight-ending rear-naked choke at the 1:38 mark of the second round.
