Nurmagomedov is scheduled to fight Figueiredo in a bantamweight bout at UFC 324 on Saturday in Las Vegas. Nurmagomedov recently shared his honest opinion on his upcoming opponent. Nurmagomedov revealed that he doesn’t see any major threat in the former UFC flyweight champion. While Nurmagomedov respects Figueiredo’s experience and skills, he believes the Brazilian is one-dimensionally dependant on his right side.

Business As Usual
“The preparation for this fight is just like for any other,” Nurmagomedov told Red Corner MMA. “There’s no special work for this particular opponent. We’re trying to improve in all aspects to become the best in the world. I can’t see any threat in Figueiredo. Of course, he’s a very experienced and skillful fighter. But it’s all about his right hand and the right leg. He has some understanding of grappling. He is capable of taking you down. Overall, he’s a decent fighter, but I can’t see any big threat in him.”
Nurmagomedov (19-1) went unbeaten in his first six UFC outings to earn a title shot against Merab Dvalishvili. Nurmagomedov suffered his lone professional loss against Dvalishvili via a hard-fought unanimous decision last year. Nurmagomedov has since rebounded with a victory over a surging Mario Bautista. Meanwhile, Figueiredo (25-5) moved up to bantamweight after going 1–2-1 in four flyweight title fights against Brandon Moreno. “Deus da Guerra” 4-2 at bantamweight and coming off a split-decision win over Montel Jackson.
