A recent viral video shows Pereira knocking a sparring partner out cold in training. While the sparring partner’s identity is unknown, he appeared to be in the same weight class as Pereira. The UFC light heavyweight champ ripped his partner to the body a few times before flattening him with a left hook to the chin.

“Poatan” made his UFC debut in 2021 and won the middleweight title against Israel Adesanya the next year. Pereira lost the title in their immediate rematch and moved up to light heavyweight. Pereira won the vacant light heavyweight title against Jiri Prochazka in 2023 and defended it thrice within a year before losing to Magomed Ankalaev. An underdog going into his rematch against Ankalaev, Pereira reclaimed his title by stopping the Russian in 80 seconds at UFC 320 this past October.
