Zabit Magomedsharipov’s long-awaited return to competition postponed

Zabit Magomedsharipov is out of his grappling match against Raul Rosas Jr.

Magomedsharipov was scheduled to return to competition for the first time since 2019 in a grappling match against Rosas Jr. (12-1) at ACBJJ 21 on July 5 in Moscow, Russia.

However, Zabit is now out due to an injury and will be replaced on short notice by his brother, Professional Fighters League talent Khasan Magomedsharipov. Undefeated featherweight Khasan (11-0) will make a quick turnaround of week from his first-round submission win at PFL San Diego.

Zabit Magomedsharipov withdraws from ACBJJ 21 matchup vs. Raul Rosas Jr.

Zabit (18-1) is considered one of most gifted fighters to have graced the sport of mixed martial arts, without reaching its pinnacle. Undefeated in six Ultimate Fighting Championship outings, Zabit defeated Calvin Kattar in his last fight in 2019. Zabit surprisingly retired from the sport in 2020 due to bouts failing to come to fruition, lingering health issues and to pursue a career in medicine.
