Conor McGregor details how fighting at 170 pounds changes his power

Conor McGregor vows to bring a different level of power in his return against Max Holloway.

McGregor returns for the first time since 2021 in a rematch against Max Holloway at UFC 329 on July 11 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. “Notorious” has not been doing much media leading up to his highly anticipated return. However, the former Ultimate Fighting Championship double champ promises that he has been putting in the work, which gives him a kind of confidence that doesn’t need to be put on display.

“I feel absolutely amazing, stellar,” McGregor told The Mac Life.

While McGregor has fought at lightweight and featherweight for the majority of his UFC career, the Dubliner will fight Holloway at welterweight. McGregor promises to bring a different level of power at 170 pounds.

“There’s a different thud when you fight against me. A fought Max once many years ago. I look forward to my improvements on it.”

McGregor (22-6) had defeated Holloway (27-9) via a unanimous decision in their first clash in 2013. However, Holloway is a favorite going into their rematch considering McGregor’s inactivity since breaking his leg in a trilogy loss against Dustin Poirier in 2021. McGregor’s last UFC win in a welterweight matchup against Donald Cerrone in 2020.
