A heavyweight clash between Alistair Overeem and Augusto Sakai is expected to serve as the headliner for an Ultimate Fighting Championship card on Sept. 5.

ESPN was first to report the pairing. The event does not yet have an official venue or location. The UFC is currently holding a month-long series of events on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi in July and plans to hold five August events at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Overeem has won three of his last four Octagon appearances and is coming off a second-round TKO of Walt Harris at UFC on ESPN 8 on May 16 in Jacksonville, Florida. The 40-year-old Dutchman has bested the likes of Fabricio Werdum, Mark Hunt, Andrei Arlovski, Junior dos Santos and Frank Mir during his UFC tenure.

A former Bellator talent, Sakai will enter the matchup with Overeem on a six-bout winning streak that includes four Octagon triumphs. Most recently, the 29-year-old Brazilian took a split verdict over Blagoy Ivanov at UFC on ESPN 9 on May 30.
