Carlos Prates Gets Fight Rescheduled at UFC 319 in Chicago

Fighting Nerds talent Carlos Prates will attempt to return to the win column in the Windy City.

The Las Vegas-based promotion confirmed on Sunday that Prates will face Geoff Neal in a welterweight bout at UFC 319 on Aug. 16. The fight was originally scheduled for UFC 314 this past April before Neal withdrew from the event. UFC 319 takes place at the United Center in Chicago and is headlined by a middleweight championship tilt between Dricus Du Plessis and Khamzat Chimaev.

Prates Looks to Rebound from First UFC Defeat

Prates began his promotional tenure with four consecutive KO/TKO victories before dropping a five-round verdict to Ian Garry in the UFC Kansas City headliner on April 26. “The Nightmare” owns a 21-7 professional mark and has finished 19 of those triumphs inside the distance.

Neal, meanwhile, last appeared at UFC 308, where he snapped a two-bout skid with a first-round TKO of Rafael dos Anjos. The 34-year-old Texan’s 8-4 UFC record includes wins over the likes of Vicente Luque, Santiago Ponzinibbio, Mike Perry and Belal Muhammad.
