Ziam (18-4) faced Nazim Sadykhov (11-2) in a lightweight matchup at UFC 323 on Saturday. Ziam dominated the Azerbaijani on the feet from the opening bell and finished him with a flurry in a second-round buzzer beater.
Still Mourning
At the post-fight presser, a reporter brought up Ziam’s withdrawal from his last fight due to his grandmother’s demise. The Frenchman was visibly moved and walked out of the press conference on the verge of tears.
Ziam was scheduled to fight Kaue Fernandes at UFC Paris this past September. However, “Smile Killer” pulled out of the fight due to the sudden death of his grandmother. Ziam is currently riding an impressive six-fight streak and is expected to break into the UFC official rankings soon.
