Marvin Vettori Vows to Finish ‘Unlikable’ Brendan Allen at UFC 318

Marvin Vettori (19-8) plans to go all out against archenemy Brendan Allen (24-7) at UFC 318.

Vettori and Allen will trade leather on Saturday at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. The UFC middleweight contenders have serious beef between them, resulting from a PFL event last year. Allen and Vettori were initially scheduled to fight in April 2024 before the latter pulled out due to an injury. The two crossed paths at a PFL event later that year and engaged in a full-fledged brawl inside a casino. According to reports, Vettori initiated the brawl by taking a swing at fellow fighter George Tokkos. While UFC lightweight veteran Michael Johnson intervened and separated everybody, Allen went and landed a 1-2 on Vettori, which appeared to drop the Italian on a roulette table.

Vettori now has a chance to settle his beef with Allen at UFC 318. Vettori has reasons to dislike Allen, which he doesn’t want to explore. However, “The Italian Dream” doesn’t really need serious reasons, as he finds Allen’s face dislikable enough. Vettori vows to “do or die” looking for a dominant finish over “All In” on Saturday.

Vettori Vows to ‘Dismantle’ Allen in New Orleans

“It’s a long story. But I’m gonna tell you this, just by the look of his face, I don’t like him,” Vettori told TMZ Sports. “Doesn’t take much. F—k man, this guy, he’s just unlikable. But I mean there is reason but I don’t want to say it here… The way he carries himself, he’s just a whiny little guy… It’s not gonna go the distance, I’m just gonna tell you that. I’m gonna go all out, it’s gonna be like now or never, it’s gonna be kill or die… I’m looking to run through him, completely f—ing dismantle this guy.

Vettori was sidelined for nearly two years due to a serious shoulder injury following a loss to Jared Cannonier in 2023. The 31-year-old dropped a unanimous decision against Roman Dolidze in his return to action this past March. Meanwhile, Allen is coming off consecutive unanimous decision losses against Nassourdine Imavov and Anthony Hernandez
