Dvalishvili put his bantamweight title on the line against Yan at UFC 323 last weekend. Yan outclassed Dvalishvili on every aspect to earn an upset win. While Dvalishvili should ideally get an immediate rematch, many believe that might not be the case. However, Dvalishvili claims the UFC has guaranteed him an immediate title rematch against Yan. While the UFC allegedly wants to book the fight in the summer of 2026, Dvalishvili wants to fight as early as April. Despite being visibly busted up, Dvalishvili claims he did not take any lasting damage in the fight.

“The UFC contacted me and said, ‘Please rest as long as you want, your next fight is a rematch with Petr Yan for the belt. Rest as long as you want and call us when you are ready,’” Dvalishvili told MMA Pros Pick. “They probably want to do the fight in the summer, but I don’t want to wait until summer. I’ll repeat once again, I didn’t get any serious injuries from this fight. Anyway, I want to schedule the fight early, maybe in the spring, in April would be good. Or maybe the fight can be scheduled in the summer.”
Yan (20-5) suffered a unanimous decision loss against Dvalishvili (21-5) in their first matchup in 2023.. However, Yan said Dvalishvili has to go through Umar Nurmagomedov to earn a rematch. Even Dvalishvili’s coach, John Wood, admitted that “The Machine” might not get an immediate rematch.
