According to figures released by Netflix on Monday, the event drew 41.4 million viewers during this past weekend, “making it the most viewed men’s championship boxing match this century.” That includes a total of 36.6 million viewers for Crawford vs. Canelo alone, a fight that ended around 2 a.m. ET. In the United States, the fight drew an estimated 20.3 million live and same-day viewers. Crawford defeated Alvarez via unanimous decision to claim the undisuputed super middleweight championship.

While that is a significant figure, it falls short of the audience for the exhibition bout between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson this past November, which reportedly was viewed in more than 60 million households on Netflix. Paul vs. Tyson had a reported 38 million viewers in the U.S.
Crawford vs. Canelo Was a Worldwide Hit
According to the Netflix release, Crawford vs. Canelo was No. 1 on the service in 30 countries, including the U.S., Mexico, UK, Argentina, Australia, Canada, Ireland and the Philippines.
Meanwhile, the fight sold out Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas with 70,482 people for a gate of more than $47 million. That’s the third-largest boxing gate in history behind only Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquaio ($72.1 million) and Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor ($55.4 million).
