Pimblett is scheduled to fight Justin Gaethje for the interim lightweight title at UFC 324 on Jan. 24 in Las Vegas. The interim booking was made because reigning champion Ilia Topuria plans on taking a hiatus for personal reasons. Pimblett plans to beat Gaethje and unify the title against Topuria next year. “The Baddy” also expressed interest in defending his title against Arman Tsarukyan, who is widely considered the most deserving title contender.

Ambitious Itinerary
“2026 is gonna be the biggest year of my life. I am coming for that interim title, then I’ll be making it the undisputed title when I come and beat Ilia Topuria up and take the undisputed title,” Pimblett told the UFC. “ And little posh boy (Tsarukyan), if he manages to fight in that time because he likes to sit out and say he’s got a sore back. If little posh boy fights in that time and keeps his ranking, I’ll punch his head in as well.”
While Tsarukyan has long been the top contender, Topuria clearly expressed a preference for defending his title against Pimblett (23-3). Meanwhile, Gaethje (26-5) threatened retirement if denied a title shot. The interim title booking between Pimblett and Gaethje, combined with Tsarukyan’s snub, has faced severe criticism from fans.
Undefeated in seven UFC outings, Pimblett’s top wins have come against Bobby Green and Michael Chandler. Meanwhile, in his last four outings, Gaethje has beaten Rafael Fiziev twice and Dustin Poirier once while losing to Max Holloway.
