‘Rampage’ Jackson Says He’s Received Death Threats After Son’s Attack on Wrestler

Former UFC champion Quinton Jackson is feeling the backlash from the actions of his son.

Last weekend, Raja Jackson appeared to violently attack Stuart Smith — aka “Syko Stu” — during what was supposed to be planned spot at Knokx Pro Wrestling event. The younger Jackson enters the ring, slams Smith to the mat and lands what seems to be a barrage of “real” punches on the defenseless wrestler. Eventually, Raja is pulled off of Smith, but not before he was left coughing blood and choking on his teeth. Smith was reportedly transported to a hospital after the incident.

Raja’s anger appeared to have stemmed from a backstage interaction in which Smith “smashed” a beer can on the side of his head. Smith apologized to Raja, who appeared to accept the gesture, setting the stage for his inclusion in the match.

Smith’s brother recently revealed that the wrestler also sustained “severe injuries to his head” but is conscious and able to talk. A GoFundMe has been started to help cover Smith’s medical expenses and loss of income.

“Rampage” released a statement shortly after the incident, condemning the actions of his son and wishing Smith a speedy recovery. He also claimed that Raja Jackson had suffered a concussion in sparring and shouldn’t have been involved at the event in any capacity.

Rampage: Anything I Say Gets Twisted

In a brief interview with TMZ Sports, “Rampage” revealed that the negative reaction from the incident has carried over to him.

“You know, I wish I could say something,” he said. “All I can say is a lot of racist people giving me death threats and stuff like that, like I’m a puppet master, calling me a bad father. It’s uncalled for. Anything I say gets twisted anyway.”

“Rampage,” 47, is a former UFC and Pride Fighting Championships standout who was one of the sport’s top stars during his heyday. He hasn’t fought professionally since 2019, though he was scheduled to face Rashad Evans in a boxing match this past April before the event was canceled. The 25-year-old Raja owns a 1-1 mark in pro MMA but hasn’t competed since 2023.
