Marc Goddard will officiate the interim lightweight title bout atop UFC 324 on Saturday.
Referee and judging assignments for the UFC 324 main event were confirmed during a Nevada State Athletic Commission meeting on Tuesday. Goddard will be the third man in the cage for the showdown between Justin Gaethje and Paddy Pimblett. He will earn $3,000 for the assignment.
Meanwhile, Mike Bell, Derek Cleary and Sal D’Amato will score bout from cageside. Each judge will be paid $2,600.
High Stakes
The Gaethje-Pimblett winner is expected to be in line to face undisputed lightweight king Ilia Topuria when “El Matador” is ready to return to active competition. The Georgian-Spaniard has taken a hiatus from the UFC to tend to personal issues but has indicated that he will likely be ready to return sometime between April and June.
UFC 324 takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and will also see Sean O’Malley square off against Yadong Song in the bantamweight co-main event. The main card airs on Paramount+ beginning at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT, while prelims kick off on Paramount+ beginning at 5 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT.
