UFC 255 in Tweets: Fighters react to Deiveson Figueiredo’s dominant win, Valentina Shevchenko’s lost round

UFC flyweight champ Deiveson Figueiredo defended his title for the first time on Saturday night at UFC 255, and he did it in half the time.

Figueiredo made Alex Perez tap at the 1:57 mark of the first round of the pay-per-view headliner, catching Perez off guard with a guillotine choke after misdirecting him with a setup for a leg submission.

In a night filled with decisions, it was by far the most dominant statement of the night, even more so in light of a women’s flyweight co-headliner that briefly bucked expectations when Jennifer Maia smothered Valentina Shevchenko before the champ regained control and pulled away.

Check out what pros had to say about UFC 255’s headlining fights and more.
