Apart from being one of the best fighters in the world, Makhachev is also a master at troubling his friends and teammates. The former UFC lightweight champion’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, often bears the brunt of his playfulness.
Makhachev recently sneaked up on Abdelaziz with a magnifying glass and concentrated the sun’s rays on his bald head. Apologiing for the prank, Makhachev wrote on Instagram: “Sorry bro.”
Makhachev Enjoys Teasing Manager
Abdelaziz is likely accustomed to Makhachev pulling his leg by now. The Dagestani star recently mocked Abdelaziz for spending $200 on a haircut. Makhachev asked the barber for a 50% discount as Abdelaziz only has half a head of hair. Makhachev also crashed Abdelaziz’s interview with Josh Thomson, where he praised the manager’s skills on the mic.
Makhachev (27-1) defended his lightweight title four times before moving up to welterweight. Makhachev is now scheduled to challenge Jack Della Maddalena for the welterweight title in the main event at UFC 322 on Saturday at Madison Square Garden in New York. While Makhachev hasn’t lost in 15 straight UFC outings, Maddalena (18-2) hasn’t lost in 18 outings overall since 2016.
