It appears that the new broadcast era for the UFC will include earlier start times for all of its numbered events.
The Las Vegas-based promotion recently announced a number of marquee bouts for UFC 324, which marks the beginning of its broadcast partnership with Paramount. One noteworthy aspect of the new arrangement is that the UFC 324 main card will begin at 9 p.m. ET./6 p.m. PT rather than the traditional 10 p.m./7 p.m. start times of the pay-per-view era.
New Era, Earlier Fights
According to a report from MMAFighting.com, the start time for is likely to remain in place for all numbered events going forward. It’s unclear if that could change for some international events in places such as Abu Dhabi, which tend to have a morning start time to accommodate those who attend. It’s also unknown what the start times will be utlized for the UFC’s various Fight Night events held throughout the year.
UFC 324 takes place on Jan. 24 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and is headlined by an interim lightweight title bout between Justin Gaethje and Paddy Pimblett. In the co-main event, Kayla Harrison will defend her bantamweight crown against former two-division champion Amanda Nunes. With the promotion moving away from the pay-per-view model, the card will be available through a subscription fee for Paramount+.
UFC 325 will take place one week later on Jan. 31 at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney with the same start time for the main draw. The event is headlined by a featherweight championship rematch between Alexander Volkanovski and Diego Lopes.
